SNACK SMART: Great success & strong attendance at its first participation in Fruit Attraction 2026

News – 12 October 2026

SNACK SMART’s first trade-fair participation has concluded with great success at the international exhibition Fruit Attraction 2026, held from 6 to 8 October 2026 at the IFEMA Madrid exhibition centre in Spain.

The new European information and promotion programme for fresh fruit made its first dynamic appearance on the Spanish market, choosing one of the most important international events in the fruit and vegetable sector to introduce itself to trade audiences. This participation was an important milestone at the start of the programme’s international presence, highlighting the quality, freshness and variety of European fresh fruit.

The SNACK SMART stand, in Hall 8, Stand D14-1, served as a meeting and information point and attracted particularly high numbers of visitors throughout the event. Professionals from the agri-food sector, business representatives and visitors from different countries had the opportunity to learn about the programme and the five fruits at the heart of the campaign: peaches, nectarines, pears, plums and apricots.

SNACK SMART was particularly honoured by the visit of the Ambassador of Greece in Madrid, Mr Apostolos Baltas, and of the Head of the Office of Economic and Commercial Affairs of the Embassy of Greece, Mr Pantelis Gkasios, Economic and Commercial Counsellor A′. During their time at the stand, they were briefed on the programme’s objectives, activities and international presence, and on the effort to showcase European fresh fruit in the markets of Spain and Germany.

Over the three days of the exhibition, numerous meetings and constructive discussions took place with industry professionals, strengthening the programme’s international outreach and creating important opportunities for communication and networking. Visitors’ interest focused on the characteristics of European fresh fruit, on the quality and food safety standards that govern European production, and on the importance of including fruit in the daily diet.

At the same time, the SNACK SMART team presented the information and promotion activities to be carried out during the three-year campaign, with the aim of raising the profile of European fresh fruit and raising consumer awareness in the two target markets.

SNACK SMART’s successful first appearance at Fruit Attraction 2026, the large turnout of visitors and the particularly positive response from trade audiences confirmed the programme’s dynamic start. Taking part in the event was a substantial first step in developing its international presence and laid the foundations for the continuation of information and promotion activities in Spain and Germany.
